The Founding Declaration

We, the founding members of the Buyer-First Home Inspector Alliance, declare that the home inspection profession was never meant to serve the deal. It was always meant to serve the buyer.

We reject a system that rewards inspectors for silence, speed, and short reports. We reject the referral dependency that has given real estate agents more influence over inspection quality than the buyers who pay for it. And we reject the idea that a buyer who walks away from a bad deal represents a failed inspection.

We believe the opposite. We believe the buyer who walks away informed made the best possible use of what we do.
